It’s once again time for Inktober - an online, month-long event created by Jake Parker. It’s a drawing challenge to create one ink drawing a day for 31 days. As easy as it sounds, it’s tough to find the time to do 31 decent illustrations (to spare you from viewing total garbage). It's also tough to come up with 31 new ideas within 31 days. I enjoy the challenge of drawing under pressure. I find this is how I sometimes generate some of my best ideas, as I have less time to edit, and over-analyze things. These illustrations are all done in ink. Some use the Staedtler .01 and .05 pigment liner pens; some use the FW liquid ink with a water wash on Strathmore mixed-media, vellum surface paper. The first rooster was drawn with a wood stick dipped in ink. The final Inked Ink illustration also used a bit of digital art, and was submitted to Illustration Friday for the theme of Ink.
