It's is a hot summer day here - at least for Vancouver. It's even hotter in my apartment - so hot that my watercolour sticks have started to melt! This has made for some great opportunities as far as art-making goes. If you take a close look at the snow at the bottom of the tree, the watercolour stick has been used much like an oil-paint medium. The stick was soft enough to texturally "smush" (is there a technical term for this?)onto the paper. I them applied a bit of water to soften the edges a bit. I also used some watercolour pencil and ink in to further highlight the illustration details. If you liked this blog post, you may also like: Comments are closed.
