Three Blind Mice

My illustration drawings start with rough sketches. I basically redraw the same character over and over from many different angles. This allows me to "get to know " my character. That is, I try to figure out how they move; what their personality is like, and how they look from different angles.

Then I do some watercolour and ink work. I then scan this image, digitally remove the white background, and add some digital layers.

The photo used in the final illustration was adjusted to blend the colour and texture with the rest of the drawing. The result is the final illustration below.
