This illustration was quickly drawn with ink. Then armed with a soaking wet 2" paintbrush in one hand, and a hairdryer in the other, I proceeded to soak the paper until the ink started to run. The shading spontaneously occurred for the most part. I rotated the paper to encourage the shading to go in certain directions, or used the hairdryer to stop the bleed altogether. The background and plant stem are digitally coloured.
