Vanity

The inspiration for the creature was an upside-down coffee cup and lid. This illustration started out as a rough ink sketch of the woman-like creature . I then digitized the sketch and brought in a photo of a gilded mirror.

Texture and colour were digitally added to some of the layers. There were five layers in total: the mirror, background colour, background texture and the two versions of the woman. As well, some of the features like the woman's hair and face were digitally re-worked.

This final illustration was created for Illustration Friday: Vanity
