I’m taking a different approach than last year, and working on more personal art projects. I’ve been reading a lot of articles on why it’s important to do so. If I think back to key points in my art career, they were usually when I was doing art for art’s sake, and not worrying about the outcome.
The process of letting go of the preciousness, and just having fun is really liberating. It can lead to new discoveries, as well as new opportunities. Instead of thinking “what can I get out of creating something”, I’m focussing more on “where it can lead”.
