In the first frame you are introduced to the family of birds sitting on a high wire. The wings are drawn using the Zentangle style of drawing. I thought this gave an interesting effect in use of pattern. It also makes the birds look like they are wearing little sweaters of some sort.
In the second frame you see the frightful parents watching as the little bird clumsily attempts to fly.
The mother bird is upset in the third fame, but she has made sure the little bird is at least wearing his safety parachute. The father bird is cautiously watching as the kerfuffle ensues. At this point you can interpret the scene as either the mother is "smackin' the little bird upside the head" for being so careless, or she is simply pushing him off the wire for a practice flight.
In the final frame we see the proud parents watch, as the little bird is happily flying with his "Learners" parachute fully open. I got the idea for the "Learners" sticker on the parachute from my #1 fan, my husband. He thought why not put the same sticker that newbie car drivers use on the bird's parachute? Thanks #1 - great idea! The tiny print at the bottom of the sticker reads: "New flyer" (it's secondary info that you can read at full image resolution).
