So it's been 17 days of fun-filled ink sketches for InkTober. Below are a few highlights from this week's illustrations. Some of my inspiration for the insects came from an article I read about Troll-haired insects, in Huffington Post Green. The others are just my silliness at its best.
Although I am happy with most of my sketches, I do apologize to my daily followers for a few of the sub-standard ones that I've snuck in. Then again, it just shows you that illustration is a process. Some days are great, and some days are tough when it comes to generating ideas or being in the right mind-set to draw beyond a stick figure (not that I have anything against stick figures).
What I have also found interesting is that by posting illustrations on a daily basis, the level of engagement has gone up considerably on my social media pages. I have almost doubled the number of followers on my Twitter page @patriciapinsk, and have acquired a few more "Likes" on my Facebook Patricia Pinsk, illustration page.
Granted I'm still new to the social media scene, so it doesn't take much to double my follower count. However, I do owe much thanks to @inktober the unofficial Twitter botski that re-tweets to (at last count ) its 1609 followers. As a result, my posts have gained exposure that I couldn't get on my own.

You can find all my online InkTober posts on Twitter (@patriciapinsk) and Facebook (Patricia Pinsk, illustration) under #inktober from October 1-31. You can also check out the unofficial InkTober board. Thanks to Jake Parker for creating the InkTober challenge (31 drawings in ink for 31 days)!
